Thomas Hobbes is a thinker that put political theory on philosophical premises in order to explain and understand the origins of the state.. He was influenced by the economic, political and social developments of Britain during his lifetime and this situation is reflected in Hobbes' theories and works.In addition, Hobbes completely destroyed the belief that the source of the previous power came from God. It is a name that bases the artificial institution which the people created and the sets foundation of today's state understanding. The aim of this study is to examine how the 17th century English philosopher Thomas Hobbes, who lived between 1588 and 169 and who has created legitimacy and authority with an unquestionable Leviathan by the society contract, is influential in the formation of the state. In this context, nature state, perception, reason, contract, state etc. are disccussed.
