The phenomenon of migration, which has been widely discussed in different platforms/circles by its forms, reasons and the interactions it has created in its space since the existence of human being, is an intricate subject that has gained global character with increasing demographic circulation in the present world. The practice of migration, which means a change of place or space, creates forms of memory that differ in their semantic associations in different cultural universes, depending on the experience of individual and community life. The concepts implicated in the migration and the phenomenon of migration, naming in social memory for individuals / groups who have migrated or have to, the reflexes emerging when the immigrants encounter the inhabitants are only a few of the topics accumulated in social memory. The purpose of this study is to put the semantic memory corresponding to the social phenomenon of migration in Turkey, through concept sets providing us to understand and discuss migration and everyday communication patterns. The concepts in relation to migration practice used in Turkey largely tend to discuss migration negatively. This study intends to describe this situation and to understand its background
