The process of globalization is a phenomenon in which the national borders become uncertain, trade, capital flow, technology, human mobility intensified and the degree of interaction and communication between them increased. Reflection of Turkey in this process with political, economic and socio-cultural dimensions, which has begun to emerge in the most obvious form Ozal period, although extended to the Ottoman period. Turgut Özal, as the representative of the new right movement in the world, has paved the way for Turkey to be added to the globalization process in the economic sphere. Under the leadership of his economic dimension, he has become a political figure, which is the initiator of significant change of understanding and transformations in Turkey, in order to be a player of the global system in political and socio-cultural fields. The most obvious political transformation in this context was Özal's attempt to unite the four political trends under the umbrella of the Anavatan party. Adoption of free market economy in terms of political economy, is the abandonment of the development approach based on import substitution and the introduction of the growth approach based on exports. With the convertibility of the Turkish Lira, there has been a shift towards global trade and competition. In the field of foreign policy, cooperation with Turkic republics and a more concentrated understanding of politics with Middle Eastern countries has gained importance. The ideal of the 21st century to be the century of the Turks was a vision put forward by Özal.
