The material and spiritual values created by a society from past to present express the culture of that society. These cultural values, which we encounter as customs, traditions, customs, bring into being the institutions that bring the society together and provide social solidarity. The most important of these institutions is the family. The institution of family is also provided by the institution of marriage. Marriage is an element that provides social acceptance and unites the society rather than providing the continuation of a generation alone. The family institution, which is the foundation of society, has an important place in Turkish society as well as in other communities. The fact that the Turks have a nomadic society structure has caused them to be influenced by other cultures as well as transferring their own culture to other societies. In this context, there are differences from region to region in the practices related to the marriage ceremony. In this study, we have included the traditions, customs and practices that we have identified in the weddings in the region by making use of the folkloric products we have compiled in the town of Çadırkaya, which has historical, cultural richness and diversity, and its people, depending on the tradition of marriage. It has been tried to determine the similarities and differences of these traditions and practices with Islamic, pre-Islamic Turkish traditions and cultural elements taken from other societies.
