Mehmet Akif Ersoy (1873-1936) one of the most important witness of our late history, whether with his world of thought, or socialist art and also scholar personality is an important identity adopted sincerely both in our society and for Muslim world. His works accepted as perfect treasury are the records of the time it were created. Mehmet Akif's poems are literary texts which express best Islam knowledge against illiteracy; allience against difference; agreeing against seperatism; Islam mentality against now, human and political system and ideology.
His poems are the works brightening his word of thought. In his poems, mostly handled about community issues the terms ignorance and nationalism seen as the main reasons prevent the union of Muslims and their development. Mehmet Akif Ersoy has a modern sight and he is open minded about positive sciences. For him the biggest and only disaster for society is ignorance. In his poems the response of the term ignorance is illiteracy and both misconstruction and misunderstanding of religion. Schools of positive sciences are among the most important sources of his poems. Defending science principle against ignorance in social life, Mehmet Akif Ersoy also against nationals approach and settlements which can demolish the unity of societies clasp around the ?slamic relief and aim. Yet he by defending ‘muslim ummah’ which corresponds public accord constructed under the Islam union, he have the intention that nationalism idea carrying case of only one nation brings isolation and national break.
