One of the most important features that make human beings different from other living things since the beginning of history has been the ability to communicate. Communication is a necessity as a result of a need for people to understand each other. People can understand and communicate with each other by using different types of communication which have been developed to the present day. In today's communication age, visual communication is at the forefront in terms of universal language formation. The visuals used in communication are universal languages as expressions of expression. Although it is a unique language in every branch of visual arts, these languages form the world of visual symbols and signs. Visual symbols and signs accelerate visual communication. One of the realities underlying the fact that art is of interest to people is that it has a mysterious aspect. This mystery forms mostly symbols. To date, art has been nurtured from mystery and mysticism. In this way, artistic symbolism has been on the agenda. Since there are many different ways of communicating between individuals, the way of communication can change continuously, but there is an unchanging concept; It can also be called the symbol. Symbols are an important form of expression in communication as it is the one that introduces, represents or has signs. The way to communicate through symbols is directly related to understanding and making sense of them. Illustrations drawn on the walls of the cave, first writing systems, petroglyphs, hieroglyphic writing, numerical systems, abstract and concrete pictures and descriptive expressions can be considered as a symbol waiting to make sense. The symbols and signs contained in the visual arts form the language of the field and form the language of visual art. The general purpose of this research, which is carried out by descriptive screening method; to evaluate the universal language in visual arts in terms of symbols and communication, to discuss the dimension of visual arts as a universal language and to emphasize the importance of artistic symbolism
