USING OF SOCIAL MEDIA OF YOUNG PEOPLE AND EFFECTS OF USING SOCIAL MEDIA ON HOLIDAY PREFERENCES

Social media spread among individuals day by day is an internet environment. Especially popular by young people, social media is one of the beneficial source for holiday preferences. The aim of this study is to determine the use of social media and effects of using social media on holiday preferences for young people. In this study, for this aim, view of social media concept, using of social media, the relationship between tourism and social media have been analayzed among young people. The survey is implemented on university students who are studying in Ankara, Balikesir, Eskisehir, Karaman, Nevsehir and Sanliurfa, on 3-26 December 2013 and datas are provided by 524 questionnaries. According to the results of this study, young people’s holiday preferences are affected from social media relatively (3,52). Significant difference has found between effects of using social media on holiday preferences and time spent in the social media.
