Depending on the technological developments, moral values are begun to be forgotten. This negative development and the increase in self-centered life style manifested the importance of the Values Education once again. Values and Values Education, which is became future, general and specific target as government policy, included in the curriculum of the Ministry of National Education; many books, articles are written and many conferences and panel discussions are arranged about became very important in terms of transferring the material and moral components which are very vital for the nations to stand and live as a nation. One of the common methods to determine the values of the nations are to examine the works belong to that nation. Because a work carries traces from both the period before it is written and the period it is written in. With this aspect, the book of Dede Korkut is one of the unquestionable greatest works in Turkish Language and Literature. This book is a kind of memory book for Turkish people with its unique qualifications. It has a lot of information related to the Turkish Language, literature, history, sociology, folklore, psychology and values systems. ?n this study, the question of how the values in the book of Dede Korkut were transferred to the generations will be answered in terms of approaches in Values Education.
