Few studies have been made about Garâmî who is a remarkable poet with witty style of his era. Classical sources, summarizes the information about the poet provided by Â?k Çelebi. Yet the poet's single copy of his Divan that found abroad contains rich material about his life and personality. Apart from poetry, Garâmî who has a colorful personality has talent on remil, hat and music. One of the remarkable features about him is, in contrast to many poets, he has brought many elements related to real life into poetry. The poet mentioned many Ottoman poets in his works and described his impressions about them. Garâmî used poetry as a mean to develop relations to the court; he addressed to Sultan Suleyman in his poetry, expressed his expectations from him and wrote about acts of the monarch.
